Medical Recovery Homes for Refugees in Turkiye
Since 2019, RGW has supported Syrian refugee children and adults facing war-inflicted illnesses and injuries, providing medical recovery homes and food security during treatment in Turkiye.
With a population of 3.7 million Syrian refugees, Turkiye grapples with significant healthcare challenges, especially for those affected by conflict-related health issues. RGW has been at the forefront of providing essential support to Syrian refugees, particularly children battling cancer.
In Adana, a staggering 80% of paediatric cancer patients are Syrian refugees, often lacking accommodation and vital outpatient social services, including nutritional support, during medical treatment.
RGW has set up two medical recovery homes to meet this crucial need. One accommodates male caregivers/patients and their children, while the other is for female caregivers/patients and their children, ensuring privacy and comfort.
Beyond providing shelter, RGW covers unpaid medical bills and monthly food provisions, holistically supporting patients' recovery and well-being.
Join us in supporting these resilient individuals and families as they recover from war-inflicted illnesses and injuries or seek comfort and pain relief in their final days, especially in cases of advanced cancer.
The refugee girl in the photo is our beloved Sujud. She is in remission from cancer and has been living at the RGW Medical Recovery Home for over five years.
