RGW Primary Care Clinic, Attock, Pakistan
In rural Attock, Pakistan, the RGW-AMWT primary care clinic, complete with a free pharmacy, provides vital healthcare to underserved communities. This ongoing three-phase project aims to expand services with each stage.
Access to healthcare in rural areas of Pakistan faces significant challenges due to the lack of adequate healthcare infrastructure, resulting in a disparity between urban and rural populations. Approximately 70% of Pakistanis reside in underserved rural regions, leading to limited access to essential healthcare services.
Our initiative aims to bridge this gap by launching a hospital in phases. Phase 1, which opened in April 2024, includes GP services for men, women, and children, along with a specialized eye unit providing screening and cataract surgeries monthly. Additionally, a free pharmacy is available to all patients.
Future phases will introduce a maternity unit with normal and C-section deliveries, specialized women and children's health services, an infant care unit, and other specialized medical services, including surgical units.
By partnering with local healthcare providers and organizations, we enhance our impact and address the healthcare challenges faced by rural communities in Pakistan. Collaborating with AMWT ensures comprehensive healthcare services, including technicians, doctors, surgical equipment, medicines, and laboratory facilities.
The land for the clinic was donated by a generous individual in honour of his father, Muhammad Khitab Khan.
