Turkiye-Syria Quake Emergency Response
In the wake of the 2023 earthquakes in Turkiye and Syria, which claimed over 50,000 lives and displaced millions, RGW mobilized swiftly.
In partnership with local authorities and organizations, RGW dispatched numerous trucks brimming with essential supplies to the areas hardest hit by the disaster, ensuring that aid reached the ground within the first critical hours.
Our response prioritized meeting the immediate needs of those affected. We distributed emergency food packages filled with grains, legumes, canned goods, cooking oil, and water.
Understanding the specific challenges faced by women and girls during such crises, RGW supplied dignity kits, which included crucial hygiene products such as toothbrushes, soap, and sanitary pads. To bring some comfort amid the chaos, we also provided bedding and blankets.
These concerted efforts enabled RGW to directly support over 10,000 survivors, providing not only material aid but also a beacon of hope.
"Seeing the relief on their faces as we arrive gives us all the motivation we need to keep going.”
— Filiz Ozmisir | Founder & CEO of RGW
Filiz Ozmisir and Faisal Yousuf, founders of RGW, along with RGW’s dedicated team, were personally on the ground, engaging with survivors. Filiz commented, "Seeing the relief on their faces as we arrive gives us all the motivation we need to keep going," capturing the essence of RGW’s impact.
As the recovery phase advanced, RGW upheld its commitment by extending support through the construction of a container community, fostering a sense of normalcy and security for families eager to rebuild their lives.
