GIFT OF LIFE: FREE DIALYSIS CARE

IN BHIMBER, AZAD KASHMIR

In the quiet hills of Bhimber, where kidney failure once meant despair, Refugee Girls Worldwide (RGW) has built a lifeline of hope. With a state-of-the-art dialysis ward, world-class machines, and compassionate care, over 3,000 patients have received free treatment, dignity, and a chance at life.

For years, families in Bhimber faced a cruel reality: dialysis was a privilege few could afford. Kidney failure meant poverty, pain, and in most cases, no treatment at all. Patients traveled far, only to be turned away or charged more than they could ever pay. Hope was flickering, like a dying candle.

Then Refugee Girls Worldwide stepped in not with words, but with action. A fully equipped dialysis ward was constructed, fitted with the world’s best dialysis machines. Today, patients are not only treated free of charge, but are brought from their homes, given accommodation, meals, and, most importantly, treated with dignity and respect.

The impact is profound. Over 3,000 free dialysis sessions have already been provided. Patients like Shahid Iqbal, who has been on dialysis for over 12 years despite his disability, continue to fight with courage and a smile, because RGW makes sure no one is left behind. What once seemed impossible is now a daily reality: life renewed, families restored, and hope rekindled.

But the need is ongoing. Every machine, every treatment, and every meal requires your compassion. With your support, RGW can continue to expand this life-saving work, ensuring that no patient in Bhimber is ever denied the chance to live with dignity.
